Hungaski's on porch

Wanamakers General Store is an authentic family-owned General Store nestled in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Our nearby neighbors include Hawk Mountain Bird Sanctuary, Pamela's Forget-Me-Not B&B, The Country Seat and WK&S Steam Railroad which stops at the store on summer weekends.

In the late 1870s, Elias Hoppes, a civil war veteran (present at Lee's surrender at the Appamatox Court House) built the store from brick manufactured in the adjoining meadow, and timber milled from the slopes of the Blue Mountains in Northern Lehigh County. Since then the store has remained operational through three Pennsylvania families—the Reinharts for 74 years, David and Deborah Bond for 25 years, and now us, Arian and Tim Hungaski since May 2007.

Today, we are working hard to carry on Wanamakers proud tradition as a full-service general store. About us picWe offer quality groceries, locally produced foods, arts and crafts, hunting and fishing licences, and homemade deli items. Please visit our products and menu pages to learn more.

As always, we’d love to hear your suggestions on how our store can best serve you. We're so glad you dropped in!
