Brandywine – Pink skin, red flesh, rich flavor, fruit up to 1lb+
Yellow Brandywine – Deep yellow skin and flesh, low acid, fruit up to 1lb+
Striped German – Lg. yellow fruit with bright red stripes inside and out, fruit up to 1.5b+
Cherokee Purple – Delicious rich flavor, purple to brown skin, purple/red flesh, fruit up to 1lb+
Black Prince – Red/Brown smooth round fruit, 4-6oz fruit
Green Zebra – Green/Gold smooth round fruit, sweet tart and juicy, good for salads, 4-6oz fruit
Great White – Smooth cream colored skin, low acid, medium size 12oz fruit
Early Girl – First slicing tomato, light red, firm round 4-6oz fruit
Big Beef – Standard mid-season red slicing tomato, 12oz+ fruit
Yellow Taxi – Yellow slicing tomato, meaty flesh, low acid, 8-12oz fruit
Sungold – Deliciously sweet golden cherry tomatoes, very early, hit with kids
Sweet 100 – Standard red cherry tomato
Juliet – Oblong ‘saladette’ tomato, great for fresh cooking, meaty and flavorful, 1-2oz fruit
Yellow Pear – Yellow pear shaped heirloom cherry tomato, low acid, very prolific
Red Pear – Red Pear shaped heirloom cherry tomato
Grape – Oblong mini red tomato, very prolific, sweet flavor
Red Bell – Large bell pepper. Starts green to deep red when ripe.
Islander Bell – Medium bell pepper. Starts dark purple to orange when ripe.
Yellow Bell – Large bell pepper. Starts green to bright yellow when ripe.
Red Carmen – 9” red fry peppers on stocky plants. Sweet, thick walled fruits. Good roasted.
Cubanelle – 7” green fruit, turn light red when fully ripe. This walled, good for salads.
Shoshito – Abundant small 3-4” fruits. Delicious seared whole in oil and dusted with sea salt.
Poblano – Classic stuffing pepper for chile relleno. Medium spicy.
Jalapeño – Classic hot pepper for Mexican cuisine. Abundant fruit. Medium spicy.
Habanero – Prolific bright orange lantern shaped fruits. Very hot.
Serrano – Small green to red fruits. Abundant fruit. Medium hot.
Squash + Cucumbers
Green Zucchini – Green slender fruit. Best picked when 6” – 8” in length while still tender.
Yellow Squash – Yellow fruit. Pick at 6”-8” before skin darkens and toughens.
Patty Pan – Bright yellow discs. Tender and delicious when picked the size of a silver dollar.
Cuke, Slicing – Standard green slicing cucumber. Pick at 8-9” in length when fruits are filled out.
Cuke, Pickling – Short pickling variety. Shorter vines produce abundant fruit. Pick when 3-4”.
Cuke, Lemon – Heirloom cucumber. Round fruit start pale green and turn golden. Pick at 3” dia.
Eggplant, Asian – Abundant long skinny fruit. Mild tender skin does not need to be peeled.
Broccoli – Standard single crown broccoli. Pick when heads are 5-6” dia.
Cabbage – Early cabbage. Medium dense. 4-6lb heads.
Cauliflower – Standard white cauliflower. Wrap heads with outer leaves to avoid yellowing.
Kale, Curly – Hardy, vigorous kale. Great for soups and other dishes. Very nutrient dense.
Kale, Red Russian – Attractive tender kale with purple stems. Good used in salad when baby size.
Red Beets – Standard red beet. Delicious roasted.
Salad – Mixed lettuce greens for cut-and-come-again salad.
Snap Beans – Bush plants fill with straight pods. Pick when 4-6” when still tender.
Basil, Italian – Traditional Genovese basil for classic basil flavor. Great for pesto.
Basil, Purple – Attractive glossy deep purple leaves. less vigorous than traditional basil.
Basil, Thai – Tender leaves with sweet anise flavor, attractive purple stems.
Basil, Lemon – Small leaves with distinct citrus aroma. Great with seafood dishes.
Italian Parsley – Traditional parsley with strong flavor. Vigorous plants.
Cilantro – Classic herb for ceviche and many Mexican cuisine dishes.
Dill – Delicious aromatic herb. Delicious with fish and in dressings and marinades.
Zinnia – Benary Giant Tall 4’ tall plants produce abundant large blooms over extended period. Mixed colors.
Calendula – Yellow and orange aromatic blossoms. Plants are resinous and blooms are medicinal.
Nasturtium – Abundant yellow and orange trumpet blossoms. Flowers are edible with a peppery flavor.
